The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) is the UAE’s largest applied higher educational institution and is deeply entrenched in the local society. With 16 campuses around the country and an inclusive approach to learning through flexible, personalised tracks, almost every household in the country holds a HCT graduate.

As a public, federally funded institution, HCT plays a key role in the nation’s agenda with graduate employability as the ultimate aim. A hands-on, skills-based, sectors-specific curriculum ensures graduates are professional-ready, fit-for-industry and able to support the country’s economic objectives.



The focus of HCT today is on creating a generation ready to lead Industry 4.0. The 4IR (4th Industrial Revolution) favours skills over degrees and HCT has the right applied education curriculums in place and the technology, faculty and industry relationships to encourage and enable real-life research, innovation and entrepreneurship.





The institution’s on-campus Incubation Spaces develop and incubate innovative concepts that can help solve social and economic challenges. As the first approved university economic free zone, HCT is able to commercialise and launch start-ups to help foster graduate self-reliance for employment and wealthcreation opportunities.



HCT also boasts many alumni in prominent positions around the country in both public and private spheres, contributing to their own – and to their nation’s success.
Yet, when faculty, staff, students, alumni and industry partners looked at the visual identity of this dynamic, energetic, future-focused, institution, they saw an “old-fashioned” logo of a “cliched falcon” “confined in a window”. They saw only the past, not today, not the future.
“You know what we’d love to see?” one client asked. “A merch shop with students wanting to buy and wear school gear. I want to see them proud of our institute and our brand identity.”
And that’s what we set out to do.
