Bellwether designed & built a responsive website on Sharepoint, designed the cross platform mobile application framework and a responsive internet banking application for both retail & wholesale banking. We were assigned to review the current online presence and build a platform and guidelines both visually and technically for the bank to launch new products, campaigns and a personalised communication all with a consistent brand experience.
Content restructuring was the most important task, as the positioning varied from conventional banking. The focus while redesigning the website was on the customer centricity, content discoverability and device compatibility. Muzn is positioned to open new branches, new products and new campaigns. Hence a sitemap with scalability was on the top of the requirements. Once the sitemap was done, we developed wireframes which underwent extensive usability tests with a focus group. It was important to ensure all the stake holders who were geographically separated were on the same page when it came to navigation, tactical messages and content priorities.
The big spotlight works as a carousel that helps to communicate strongly. While the campaigns are running, the spotlights can have the same messages as an extension for the brand familiarity. There is an I am looking for device at the top of the website for any user to quickly go to the section that they need. This saves time for the user in case they are looking for something specific. The homepage also lists all the major products. This helps in Search Engine Optimization(SEO) as Muzn had very little online presence. The home page also lists latest news which helps in fresh content on the page. The calculators on the homepage help both new customers and returning customers to quickly check the eligibility.
Muzn's online rebranding helped the bank to think about all the other channels and print collaterals to have the same visual identity. Most of the banks in Oman has the Islamic banking window and hence competition is very tough. Customers whether retail or business are becoming tech savvy and require integrated platforms to function efficiently. For the retail banking, Bellwether designed the online banking platform.It is meant to function as an integrated platform to showcase products, communicate offers and the campaign messages. The challenge was to bring a mindset change when it came to communicating through the digital channels. The Shari'a aspect of the services has to have the necessary prominence, without overshadowing the credibility as a bank.
The app is designed developed around a great user experience. The app was going to be built on a cross platform software and hence it was important to think about both iOS and Android behaviours and user expectations.
